Decent headphones?

I'm looking for a new pair of headphones for Christmas, but I don't know what to ask for. I want the over ear style, but not huge ones. They would have to be noise canceling, (at least enough so that people around me cant hear what im listening to) comfortable, and have good audio. And, under 100$ would be best. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

dont get skull candy, they look cool but the audio quality blows, dre beats are also overpriced Bs

also any large driver over the ear headphones will drag your ipod battery down faster. Its better to get in ears as they recreate sound using smaller drivers and the shape of your ear. i swear by these things, they sound better than any other in ear under $100

Skullcandy is fine considering the price. That beiong said, of course there are better brands. But for a strictly shred purpose, why spend a ton of money. You're taking it to snow. That's pretty much electronic equipments mortal enemy in frozen form.

Oh yeah!? Well, my mom says I'm cool!

PLUS, Skullcandy has a lifetime warranty from shredding too hard. If they see they can not hold up to their warranty because of something you did, then you still get 50% off your next pair.

Not Skullcandy, they'll spend most of there time in freight between warranty issues. Maybe look at something like Aerial7 or go check out your local electronics store and see what you like. I have a pair of reasonably cheap (in your giftee's price range) Phillips headphones, but they are the behind the neck ones - they have reasonable sound quality and a battery powered noise cancelling pack in the cable line (not necessarily a good thing).

If you are interested in 'in ear' phones, then i'd suggest Ultimate Ears or Sennheiser. Both are with in your price range and offer great sound quality.

i have gone through quite a few pairs of skullcandys, and all the warranty is great, they still suck.
i put this thread in the off topic section, because i will not be using these for boarding. just long car rides.

riley, those MDR's actually seem really nice.

I have the MDR7506 and would never take them riding, too big and the cord is the curled type which gets tangled and is big.

The sony pro line is nice but they don't have the smaller MDR's anymore which is a shame cos they were great.

I like the smaller consumer sony's too. Have had pairs last for years. These look cool, don't know much about them tho > MDR-PQ2 | Giiq Headphones | Sony Canada They are the MDR line though so could be good...

lifetime warranty at skullcandy is the best, especially if your around the park city area. I've had speakers go out in my Icons almost yearly and I walk into the skullcandy store tell them whats wrong and they throw me a brand new pair.
