Lake Tahoe or SLC?

I'm looking to move to one of these locations this summer. I know SLC will be cheaper but I have visited both and i'm totally in love with the tahoe area. So if anyone can help me it would be great in any way.

Not the answer I was expecting from WasatchMan.

im living in south lake right along stateline and i must say its awesome, short walk to the casinos and heavenly gondola plus not too far of a drive to other resorts in the area.

Moved from WV to SLC for a season, then to Tahoe. No question about it, choose Tahoe. But be prepared to never leave. Rent is coming down by the way. There are a lot of desperate vacation home owners competing with each other on price.

Does this mean, vacation home owners are trying to rent their properties "longer" term cuz they're short on cash? You do mean month to month, not short term right?

i have a buddy that lives in kings beach in tahoe and he says its fucking paradise. plus you can get medicinal reefer pretty easy if you live in california. because of this i say tahoe.

Yeah, I should have clarified. A large percentage of the homes in Tahoe are 2nd homes for people. While some are mainly for vacation rentals, a lot of owners prefer long term renters instead. Also with the current economy, a lot of owners who used to just leave their home empty the majority of the year and only use it for their family are now trying to get long term renters in there to help pay the mortgage. So there are a ton more rentals on the market now as compared to when I moved here 5 years ago.
