But my statement results from having a few acquinatances who are avid base jumpers, and that's how they got into it. First started jumping tandem, then solo, and then after few years one became and instructor, so by racking up the hours, I meant to say gaining experience and knowledge. You know what they say, you need to spend 10 000 hours at something to be good at it.

So anyway, then he started base jumping from all kinds of places, and now he's talking about wing suits. I'm sure that in all that story, there's liscencing and more training and what not, but I was just talking about the progression, or road one might take to become a knowleadgable skydiver.
I am going to apoligoze. I didn't mean to come off as a complete ass to you about this tread. it's just that I run into a lot more people that say "Im a skydiver", have only done it once and is god's gift to skydiving. It is a lot worse then snowboarding unfortunatly. So here it is...I am sorry for being an ass.

I went skydiving last summer for the first time, I paid about $150. I'm considering doing the program to get my license, it's about $2500 at the place I went to, but once completed, I can skydive for less than $20 bucks. I'm just not so sure I should get addicted. Everyone should try it once.
