Skydiving/Bungee

It's the best feeling in the world. Whoever tells you that it's scary, he or she is lying. Skydiving is probably one of the most, if not the most peaceful feeling in the whole world. Bungee on the other hand is more of a rush, but hella fun as well.

I need 3 more instructor jumps to be able to go solo.

Share your experiences.

Ahh so jealous.. Couple of my frat brahs went last semester while we were at school and I plan on going with them this upcoming term. They said it was hella fun and by the looks of their videos it sure seemed like it. How much does it usually cost you to go though dude?

My misses is a skydiver. She loves it. I'm holding out until I can afford to add another hobby.

I've only done the bungee once, and never jumped a plane

I would LOVE to jump out of a plane, seriously. Should put it on the list for this year I suppose

Each skydive is roughly 400$ here, plus some courses you're recommended to take.. It adds up quickly, but one you're done with the initial costs you can start jumping as little as 50$ or even free if you got connections.

Bungee in whistler run 140$ for the first jump, then you get life membership and it's 60$ after that.. Done bungee about 9 times, and it gets you every time!! :)

Do it all, it's amazing.

Bungee is a blast. I think the only thing that could provide a bigger rush would be jumping out of a plane. Someday I'll find out.

Proximity wingsuit basejumping:

I did a few tandem jumps to see if I wanted to pursue an Accelerated Freefall Program (very cost prohibitive) but then I learned the USPA requires at least 200 solo freefall jumps in an 18 month span in order to pilot a wingsuit with an instructor or 500 jumps to go solo. That's too many; it would run well into snowboarding season.

Accelerated Freefall may still be worth getting, though.

I think the progression goes something like this.

You start tandem. Then you jump solo as many times as you can, or money permits. Then you get a job at one of te skydiving places, and you rack up the hours!! And experience. Them you start experimenting with base jumping, then do that for a while, and then once you have over 1000 skydive jumps, and 500+ basejumps, you suit up in a wingsuit...
