any1 know anything about this college? i'm heavily considering attending it. i remember reading from someones post though that it's got a ton of crime going on...by that what do you mean? like underage drinking? cus i dont really consider that a crime.

From a write up on the net:
"Hiking, biking, and the Bard: Who needs reality in Colorado's capital of cool?

* Boulder's reputation precedes it. Long before you crest State 36 and glimpse this city set against the angular walls of the Flatiron Range, you know you are heading for a haven of fitness and liberal politics. As one popular comment has it, Boulder is "20 square miles surrounded by reality."

Fact is, you do see a lot of runners and SUVs with roof racks loaded with kayaks or mountain bikes. Politically, the town is the polar opposite of, say, conservative colorado springs. And counterculture? Well, let's just say that if you need a carrot shake, a therapist, or a New Age guru, you can probably find one here. "

It has a party reputation but is a good school too. Easy access to the resorts, Summit County is less than two hours away depending on traffic. Eldora is 21 miles away from Boulder.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival at the University.

I can't speak to the crime you asked about, I live about 50 minutes away. I'll ask around to my neighbors who went there and see what they say.

oh wow a shakespeare festival...sounds pretty raddddd...yeaaa might be spending my day on the hill during that.
yea i wanna know the whole deal about the crime thing.

ALSO! i heard that it's a "dry dorm" kinda school meaning their's no alcohol...and that if you get caught with it twice your booted off of the campus dorms...thats a mega burn. does that mean ima have to get drunk somewhere else?

i went to school that had dry dorms. its no big deal really. you basically have to be an idiot to get caught.

Ah the Peoples Republic of Boulder...

Crime is much less than say Denver which I find is a safe enough town. It is a high density area for sure, and the city council and others who run the town, seem to have to find stuff to regulate all the time to justify their jobs. That gets a bit annoying. World class rockclimbing, hiking, mountain biking, good kayaking, and other things to do right out your door.
Most of the crime related to college type activities. Drinkin', drugs, occasional brawls, etc. Be smart and I doubt you'll have a problem. Tons and I mean tons of hot girls there. I love going climbing in Boulder when the school is getting ready to start in the fall.

sounds really good. i'm gonna go tour it over my spring break, which is nicely positioned completely seperate from everyone elses. the snowboarding, so i've heard, is top notch too

CU Boulder has a gorgeous campus but UC Santa Cruz is hands down the most beautiful campus I have ever been too. It's hidden in the giant redwood forests of Cali. Just an amazing place. Total hippy vibe and all. You should have a real good time there.
