Yeah it's scarey what people will do to a bike! My R1 was a bone stock 2005, had one owner before me and he only put 2000 km and an alpinestars sticker on it. Other than that it was untouched when I bought it. I rode it for about 10,000 km, did nothing to it other than tires and oil, then sold it after a large speeding ticket (under Ontario's "stunt" driving law).

Fast forward a few years and a buddy at work calls me up and says "did you used to own an R1?" Turns out he bought it some 3 owners later, and he saw my name on the previous owners list. I saw pictures of it and it was all riced out. My guess is somebody dropped it and decided to repaint it flat black el cheapo when they repaired it. Cheap little turn signals, etc. It's too bad because the thing was gorgeous when I owned it!

And after I crashed her and decided to repaint black (myself) I also embedded some yamaha logos under the clear coat... I think it was a reasonable non-butcher job! lol

@ Slyder, I'll be moving back to Beaver Dam at first, then moving to Madison to start school. Looking to spend a lot of time at Tyrol!

I know that other peoples opinions ultimately don't matter, but I was really looking for "this is good" lol more like anyone who's had great/bad experiences with certain bikes and why. This will be the first motorcycle I own just trying to rake some research from a few different sources.

After riding all 3 of the ones I mentioned. Here's one I'm gonna put an offer on:
2007 Yamaha R6

most of those bikes are about equal in performance. Comfort not sure about. My buddies CBR was much more comfortable to ride then my Ninja. I would try to ride each one as much as possible to try to get a feel for each of them.
Sounds like you made a choice though and an R6 is a good bike.

We'll have to hook up at Tyrol for some riding
