Then you write shit like the post above for us to read???

That said, new cars are for people with money to burn.

Obviously a troll... But i would like to point out, it must be a mutant troll and not your typical exported Norwegian Original Troll, cos they would simply start a new thread as they are more intelligent...

On a different note though, and while this thread is being used...

How the fcuk do you manage to buy cars so cheap in the USA, it is so disheartening to us over here. I mean, we pay ridiculous price...!!!

As an example... If the next poster could pick a car, used, something NOT american, but german or japanese or similar, with a year and used price in dollars so we can compare and make you more grateful....

Okay... 2009 Toyota Camry: there are millions of Camry's out there, and 4 years is typically when people say to buy a used car (I usually wait a lot longer than that!)

There are 11 for sale in Calgary on Kijiji.

- The cheapest is $12,500 CDN with 107,000 km

- The most expensive (non-hybrid) is $21,500 CDN with 42,000 km

In Alberta private used car sales are not taxed, but in other provinces they are.

Let this dated thread return to the grave from where it came.

Adjusted to the mean income, social benefits, health costs and taxes are they still thus expensive?

I could only find a 2008 model for sale here, with 45km on the clock...

And the price is 359,000 kr or $62,167.73

So please be shocked now... Haha

Although it is the hybrid version...

Toyota Camry 2.4 HYBRID m/alt utstyr. Som ny! 2008, 45*000

What are salaries like there? Minimum wage? Etc.

Generally in North America we've got it pretty good. Fuel is cheaper than almost anywhere else in the world, comsumables are cheap. We get hooped in Canada compared to the states, but we're still pretty well off...

I like buying VERY used cars. This is my current project!

It's a '77 Celica that I picked up for $500 CDN. It wasn't running when I bought it but with a little massaging it runs great now! Spent about $1500 on all new brakes, all brake and clutch cylinders, suspension, etc. etc. etc. Next is some seam welding to stiffen up the chassis, then body and interior work. Fun stuff!

Salaries, minimum wage etc work very differently, minimum wage is like $25 but the difference between jobs is not so great on income, obviously there is a difference but the higher up the scale you get the smaller the difference... SO a doctor would not earn 10 times what minimum wage it where as in the USA this is probably quite normal, here it is more likely to be 3 times or maybe even less.

But as an example a loaf of bread is $6+ a pint of beer in a pub is $15+ a large pizza is $43+ delivered...

So you get the picture...

I really want an M3 or an RS6

A used M3 2010 is $155,000

BMW M3 Hartge versjon Xenon 20" DKG Xenon 2010, 43*150

A used RS6 2008 is $188,000

Audi RS6 5,0TFSI 580HK BOSE 2X20"F1 KEYLESS 2008, 65*000

So your normal average run of the mill job just doesn't get one... Where as in the USA or even the UK ir is possible for it to be affordable for anyone...

That to me is a holiday home on the side of a mountain to enjoy the winter, and drive a normal car which is still ridiculously expensive... Haha
