Default Absolutely nothing to do with boarding

Here's the story, we have some douche bag neighbors that moved in behind us. They have a house full of cats that get out all of the time. Our 'hood is slightly upscale and has leash laws, etc...so basically you can't let your animals roam all over.
Unfortunately one of their cats decided to take a piss in the passenger seat of my Lotus Elise when it was parked in the garage...saw the little fucker and shot him with a BB gun...to bad I didn't kill it.

Told the neighbors about it and let then know if it needed replacing, it would cost them 1400 buck from Lotus, however I was willing to be cool about it and just have them get it cleaned. No apology or anything..more like I was bothering them. Long story short, they took the seat in and got it cleaned, I then bolted it back into the car. All in all, I had about 4 hours of my time in it. When I went over to get my seat the "Mom" asked me if it were possible to keep the convertible top on my car or keep our garage door down...WTF so that this didn;t happen again. Yeah right...

So, I continue to see their fucking cat in my yard to which I let them know about. Finally, I sent them a final e-mail to let them know that if I see it again, I will contact animal control or the authorities to deal with it since I have warned them plenty and their cat is not my responsibility. I figure with e-mail, I have a record of the incidents if the cat pisses in the car and I need to take them to small claims in the future. Once they found out how much the seat was, they tried to deny it was their cat. The same cat likes to shit in everyone's landscaping as well.

Fast forward a few months to last weekend. My wife and her soccer mom friends are having a birthday party for my 5 year old daughter. Over runs their dog only to jump on a five year old girl, knocking her down. Then the dog jumps into a car seat that a few minutes before was holding a baby. The dog is a 30-40 lb. labrador pup.

My wife told me about this when I got home ad I have to admit, I was pissed...Unfortunately, I have always had a short fuse and don't always behave rationally, especially once the adrenaline starts pumping. Rather than knock on their door, I called the cops and asked them to pay a visit. I also asked the police office, who was pretty cool to NOT stroke them a ticket, but to just give them a warning. He was fine with this request. I figured maybe this would work since they have not been receptive to at least 5 other e-mails about their animals. Now a bunch of the neighbors are pissed at me for calling the cops. Unfortunately, they only are hearing the neighbors side of the story and are unaware of their cat pissing in my seat.

Am I the dick here??? Typically, I would much rather get in someone's face or rip them a new ass, but am mellowing in my older age : ) ...probably a good thing. I don't know why I even care other than the fact that I can't stand finger pointing. My motto has always been, if you don't know the facts, then you don't have an opinion.

So question is ...am I the one being the dick here...was calling the cops too drastic? Feel free to flame me if needed

Andy

If they should remorse I'd say it was MAYBE a little overboard, but since they didn't seem to care I woulda been harsher. Honestly I would have killed their cat by now.

unmarked pet cemetery
I like pets and have had many but pets need to be well behaved and maintained...obliviously the owner can't or won't. One of my neighbors dogs kept shit'n in my yard and I would take it over to their front door and left it there. It stopped...but things like pepper spray and the like are pretty effective.

Put out a live cat trap, trap the cats and take to humane society. The owners will need to pay boarding fees, plus all updated vaccines, and a fine to get the cat back. After several cats or several fines they will get the idea.
I would have gone this route before the police but that is me.
I do understand your anger, that cat pee will never be out of your seats as the uric acid will soak into the foam pad, just wait for a hot humid day, you will smell it !!!!

Yeah, I totally agree, which is why I posted. Had they been cool about it and not been so ignorant that she actually asked me to keep my garage door shut so her cat wouldn't be able to come in, I would not have gone to such measures. Rumor has it that she has told one of the neighbors that they are looking for any reason to call the cops on me now. I have to laugh. Ironically, her former neighbor from the previous neighborhood she lived in works on my team. Said they had similar problems with her as well. Man, I hate fucking stupid people.

Send your 5 yr old daughter over to their house and tel her to kick the dog, then when the neighbor comes over and says "Your daughter come to my house today and she kick my dog" you punch him right in the mouth. I dont think your a dick for calling the cops, I think you have given them enough opportunities to rectify the situation. If your other neighbors have any brains they will realize this, if they are in some kind of click I would suggest that you don't need to be in a "click" with those kind of people anyways.

Now that is a classic idea...never thought of that one. Only problem is she is the type that wouldn't go get the cats. She does some sort of cat rescue for the humane society and now she is doing some kind of dog rescue as well. So far, we have had a few hot days and I haven't noticed the smell, but if I do, then unfortunately for them, they will be buying me a new seat.

line your lot line with 4 or 5 of the cat traps, when she see's her cats in them maybe she'll get the message.
Just try to get to the trap before her, what is she gonna do call the cops for you trapping her cats in YOUR yard, not illegal. Heck she would be trespassing on your land to get to the trap.

Also does your town/city have a animal limit ordinance?
Usually each pet must be licensed with proof of all vaccinations.
Is she licensed to run a rescue from a residential property, that alone could be illegal.

sounds like this is gonna be a bad neighbor for the long haul

Funny you should mention this as my first inclination was to resort to kicking her husband's ass. I think the wife has the cock in their family as the husband seems like a week cunt that hasn't figured out his own sexuality You hit the nail right on the head though...our neighborhood is very clicky, which I am not. I've never been a big fan of that high school shit...tried to be in a frat in college...hated it.
