Late 90's 4Runner can't be beat. 180k on mine and it runs like a champ.

Settle down there bro.. I'm not an idiot. It is under warranty so I'm taking it in.. Point is a pulley shouldn't be going on a brand new truck. The 2011's also have a whining with the torque converters too. Dealer knows about it but doesn't like to fix it since its a nuisance issue. Not bitching, just making a point about the lower quality of the Dodge brand. I've been around the automotive world for a long time. I've seen the common problems with the lesser brands.

One night as I was driving across an intersection, I got sideswiped on my passenger side by a drunk who was going around 35-40 MPH. The impact was so severe that it should have rolled any vehicle I would have been driving, but it only lifted up my 4runner for a moment and caused damage to the passenger side as well as smashed windows.

Air bags went off, and I was completely fine minus a few bruises and a mild concussion. The other guy had to be rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

His truck was totaled. My 4runner was expertly repaired within a week and drove better than ever.

Moral of the story? If you can afford the gas, 4Runners are AWESOME vehicles.

fly over buy it and drive it back no problem.

It depends on the generation of 4runner. I drive the second generation 4runner. The first and second generations are more narrow than the newer ones. They are known for flipping. After the second generation Toyota made some changes. All the 4runners after the second gen are wider and more street friendly. The first 2 gens are more narrow and top heavy. They also have poor ratings for side collisions. My second gen does not have anti lock brakes or air bags. They really did improve safety.

Your 3rd gen is a fine automobile. I don't think it would be easy to convince a 4runner owner Toyota sucks. I totally agree 4runners are awesome.
