Steroid use in snowsports

Well it seems like steroids are a major part of every sport now. I have been doing some reading and find it quite interesting just how many normal people juice. Steroid use is no longer somthing people keep hidden (unless your that wanker Lance Armstrong). Its out there and widely accepted - both professionally and for amateurs alike. Pretty much every hero has juiced. Anybody at the top of their game has generally juiced. Anybody with a fantastic body has usually juiced. I never considered it growing up and the stuff scares me. That being said: how many people on here are willing to admit to juicing? What has your experience been? Have you seen Cristiano Ronaldo's transformation over the last few years.....yikes. The guy has a killer physique, but I really have to question if he did that on his own. I thought this would be a very interesting topic which may create some good debate!

My position is that the stuff is dangerous and I pray that my children never try it out!

Fuck Steroids. They're not widely accepeted anywhere except for maybe the body builders cicuits, and I'm pretty sure even those guys don't want to be associated with doping. Seriously, no professional anything would openly admit to Steroid use. That would just be asking for all kinds of problems. Again, my stance is, Fuck Steroids.

Oh yeah!? Well, my mom says I'm cool!

Good stance! My interest was peaked when I asked around work and discovered some people were on the shit!

Pretty sure all my pro friends have never juiced and probably never will. Now booze fueled stupidity to hit 100 foot gap jumps that's another story.

Is it documented in snowboarding? I dont think peds would give much of an advantage in a skill based sport. Perhaps to stave off injury... but its not like baseball or track where raw power is fundamentaly beneficial

Bode Miller offered a unique argument for legalizing the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

“I’m surprised it’s illegal,” Miller said, “because in our sport, it would be pretty minimal health risks, and it would actually make it safer for the athletes, because you’d have less chance of making a mistake at the bottom and killing yourself.”

That burn you feel in your legs at the bottom of a course? That indicates anaerobic oxygen depletion of your blood. Miller reasons your brain is similarly effected.

Endurance-boosting drugs such as erythropoietin, which is very much banned in Olympic sports, would help keep oxygen flowing to the brain, allowing skiers to make safer decisions, Miller said.

“You have to make four or five decisions every second in skiing, every turn,” said the overall World Cup champion. “[These are] conscious decisions, plus there’s another hundred that are instinct. And when your brain starts to slow down, as if you’re holding your breath for two minutes, it makes it damn hard to make those decisions.”

Keep your head in the sand buddy, there's a ton of pro (and college for that matter) team sport athletes are either juicing or have juiced.

I doubt it has a major foothold in snowsports though. Snowsports is just a completely different atmosphere and vibe.

Shawn White is to Barry Bonds as boosting 10 ft higher out of the pipe than anyone is to hitting more HRs than anyone. It would be interesting to see what the "real deal" is...

It's important to note that performance enhancing drugs are not just anabolic steroids that add bulk... they include substances that promote lean muscle mass and increase endurance.

Since no one answered your question, I will: Yes I have and loved it. I wish I could still but don't. This was many many years ago. It was a 2 year ordeal. I had been in the gym most of my HS years and into my 20's and never had results like I did. I tried several types, all injectable as these are the safest. I did not work into insulin as that is extreme but I did have some edgey stuff back in the day.
I did not go extreme, and cycled smart, yes that is possible.
I had not had Roid rage.
My biggest fear was getting caught. The individual I got connected with was a high level user and I was always super nervous when I was at his house. I knew his girlfriend so I knew he was legit. I never bought to sell as it was all personal use.
I'm not sure what else to add really but my experience with it was positive and to be honest I wish I was on test today. I have actually considered finding a Rejuvenation doctor to prescribe test.

Thanks for your honest response. That's what I love about this forum. People don't sugarcoat stuff, and seem to give honest answers most of the time. What is a rejuvenation doctor??
