Snowshoe just posted in Facebook about a possible opening. They have already had over two feet and its supposed to keep snowing thru Friday. They are callin for over 3 feet by the end. On Facebook they said they will not be open by Wednesday but to stay tuned for a possible opening! I'm guessing if they can get a handle on the power and utility outages they will be opening this weekend.

Looks like a road trip!!!! Already have 3 of us ready to go.

My step-father (who's pushing 70) spends every winter in Snowshoe. He's heading up tomorrow or whenever the roads are clear. I'm a little jealous.

3 feet will be fun, even with zero base underneath...but I'd probably wanna go off-piste and that'd, undoubtedly, be a rock gouging session. Hope you got an old rock board.

a truly devastating disaster in probably the heaviest populated area in the US. The amount of damage is just incredible, and the pictures coming in are unbelievable! Thoughts and prayers to everyone recovering from it.

One of the awesome, long standing guys on the tacoma forum i'm on lives right in the epicenter of where this storm hit. This was the last picture he sent into the forum as an update on his condition. Nobody has been able to reach him for over a day now. Hopefully his service just got knocked out and he is too busy recovering and helping his family (whos houses were also destroyed)

Isn't this where you say that is what people get for living in an area prone to this sort of thing?
