Default hurricane sandy

Everyone in the northeast, please stay safe out there. Make sure you've got food, water and a bag or two packed to leave just in case. Don't do anything stupid, if they tell you to leave, then leave! Don't make it harder than it's already going to be on your first responders.

/end PSA.

It's a fucking little storm. Being from the gulf coast, this thing is a joke. We would be BBQing, drinking and probably still have a regular work schedule. Too much hype.

That's nice, no need to be a douche.I've lived on the gulf too, and the evacuation plans, general design of cities and things like that are built around the idea of a hurricane. Unfortunately here in the NorthEast we aren't used to these types of storms, we don't build with them much in mind, and much of the public is too stupid to be safe about it. As a first responder I get to see the idiotic nature of humans more than most people and know that even a "tree down" can be a life threatening event because some idiot won't see the power line the tree took down with it and he'll try to move the tree and get fried.

So, I'm not sorry for telling people to be safe here in our "little storm"

The gulf coast wouldn't be doing shit. They'd be partying and acting a fool right up until the shit really hit the fan, then they'd be begging for .gov to come and save their dumb asses. Then they'd trash the Super Dome and New Orleans in the aftermath.

Oh, wait... what was that? You mean that already happened?

Wind is blowing real good here in Brooklyn. Thankfully no power loss yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if I lose it soon. At least the office is closed!

Supposedly We're going to be getting 100km/65 mile an hour winds in Toronto tonight, even though this isn't a big deal for people who are use to Hurricanes... It's a huge deal for people from Toronto, I've lived here my entire life and never had winds that high, should be interesting

Any Hurricane is a big deal. Especially a slow moving one that dumps a ton of moisture. You East Coast types hunker down and stay safe.
