Freeboards are kind of silly though...especially if you live somewhere flat, like Edmonton. Longboards also offer up much more versatility in terms of what you can do with it...You can downhill, slalom, slide...but what can a Freeboard do other than commute?
Same here...I am 42 as well and ride my Sector 9 on the bike trails around Portland all summer. No one even looks twice around here, but then again Portland is VERY progressive...
I love my longboard; now I have a 3 meter kite to use with it on windy days!

I've been flying dual lines kites for 10 years, I was the Italian STACK ( Sport Team and Competitive Kiting)Director for 5 years and partecipated at the EuroCup 2 and 4 lines..as a single and in team (4 kites) I have about 12 kites left of my collection, some of them, quite big Deltas.
I need a powerkite.
and then of course a land board. Wait, make it a kite surf..
