Evergreen Wildlife per request
I mentioned at one point a guy who walks his Llama by the restaurant on the regular, and someone was all, "picture!?" Took me awhile. Talked to this dude and his Llama "Honeybear". They are like the oldest domesticated animal, he's training for backpacking trips, the main issue being that he is out of shape lol.
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...028_152350.jpg We have a somewhat domesticated herd of a few thousand elk in Evergreen and they wander through our lot at work plenty as well. Here are a couple adolescent bulls at dusk the other day. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...104_165830.jpg |
I see your scrawny lil raghorn and raise you this big boy I snapped a quick picture of when leaving the house last week. :p

FINALLY!!! After ALL the political NONSENSE,.. my kind of debate!!! "WHO'S RACK IS BIGGER"!!!!! ;) (Wait,.. where are the naked women?????????) |
I always enjoy watching the videos where those Evergreen Elk go apeshit and attack cars during mating season. :D:D

when I was a small child of five a llama attacked me at a petting zoo. True story. When I retire I want to buy an alpaca farm.
Today I went for a sunrise hike up in the mountains and on my way home saw this lovely bird. Guessing by the debris i passed maybe it was a moto over the side? The joys of living in LA....I am so jealous of you in 'real' mountain states :p http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...ie/photo-7.jpg |
I saw 2 moose this spring and summer. I have only seen 3 total, the first one I saw almost 3 years ago. I live in Colorado.
I was walking my dog and almost walked into this one. He was still a bit of a baby and thankfully forgave me. I went back to my house and dropped my dog off. I came back with a camera. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...75022819_n.jpg This one I saw in the same area but in the forest. I only had a camera phone on me. This moose was a large adult female. My dog froze on the trail. He was scared. I really wish I had a real camera on me. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...07876146_n.jpg During the summer I had a lot of humming birds. The other birds never visit. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...47142822_n.jpg I saw this pine martin about a month ago when I was walking my dog, just a camera phone this time. He was a cute fuzzy little animal. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...36058040_n.jpg |
Black Bear cub at Rainier Park last July. My GF and I spotted him, and backed out of there quick... no knowing where momma was.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-d...520Rainier.jpg A friend of mine snapped these two mulies from his deck in Conifer, CO a few weeks ago... totally jealous. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-a...fer%2520CO.jpg |
couple updates
you may have seen the thread when I posted this a few weeks ago:
Elk commits suicide on my buddy's house: http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...psd87b6afd.jpg |
and the latest: how big do you think mountain lions get?
I for fucksure did not think they got this fucking big. JESUS H!
This cat was taken in Conifer (a foothill suburb of Denver, just south of Evergreen) shot 4 times and tracked for 12 hours before going down. He's been eating well for AWHILE. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps6ebc4361.jpg |
