Angry Apple Ripped me off, again!!!

So yeah I am a BIG fan of apple computers and all their products, recently I upgrade from Panther to Leopard and I love it. It made a great operating software even better, yes it's not perfect, I know, but I love it (the simplicity of it, design, everything). Well today I was playing around trying to edit a video, and guess what??? They took away IMOVIE from it, they want me to buy ILIFE or something to get it again (it used to be free with Panther, now i think it's around 100 bucks, not sure). It's not enough that I pour tons of $$$ into their fuck...ng products already and now they want more. Thats the thing with apple it's a love hate relationship with me and them.

Now I got a dilemma, I can either install the old one, copy the program and reinstall the Leopard and try pasting the program. But I am anticipating apple probably have an override for that or something (they done it before with the Disk Utility). Does anyone know a good FREE video editor for Apple that I could use?

Men more bad news with my computer, today I noticed a nasty crack on the outside of my computer (behind the screen). I have a Macbook, bought like in November of 2005 when it first came out, but It has had a rough life, I dropped it a couple times, and the thing was even in a car accident (I am amazed the thing still runs). So I guess its serve it's purpose, but I still want to get more time out of it. I am waiting for macs new macbook and I dough they are going to come out with a new one soon. I am not crazy about the macbook air, those compact computers always sacrifice things for size.

the mac book air is a cool concept....if you want to send your computer through inter-office mail. in all seriousness, though, i could see that being the future. you don't really need a drive anymore to install software if you have wireless network access and there's things like wireless/bluetooth mice, etc. at this point in time, though, i find it a little silly.

thanks for the info, I know what happened. When I got a new HD I directly installed leopard, so if I install panther and then leopard Ill probably carry all the prior programs that I used to have. I will do that after this semester is done, to lazy to do it now with finals and everything.

Thanks

You know what's awesome about having a Mac?

Nothing

I have a word limit on my cynicism

Both Apple and Microsoft are evil. Abacuses are the only way to go.

I see we have some apple hatters here. I wonder why?

In all I see more apple products each day, specially in the University.

Just over a year ago when the HP laptop died, I gave away the Sony VAIO desktop and we bought 3 MacBooks. I do development with Qt for a living and just am tired of dealing with Microsoft. One look at Vista told me I was not ready to be sold a flashy overweight OS. So we went Mac (aka UNIX!) based. They are awesome... never regreted it. In fact, the Microsoft Office products are better on the Mac.

OK, so I also have an iPhone. Last week I dropped it on the concrete. It still worked but had several cracks. I went in to the Apple store and the guy looked at it, took it in the back, then came back and said it wouldn't be covered - but I could buy a new one. I did not buy a new one - but explained that he could warranty it or I'd get another phone and sell 3 MacBooks on eBay. He instantly said "OK, we'll do it." Wow - how subjective is that. But they do have a dilemna... awesome customer service that may cost them more product than it should. Well, I'm happy.

Haven't upgraded to Leopard yet. I did get VMWare and have XP running on it. I need Logos and BlackBoard for school - oddly Bb is not out for Mac. I use VMWare for work to get RedHat on my MS-Win work laptop and it works good. But this on the Mac has Unity that shows Win apps as if they were right on your OS|X desktop - nice.
