I thought I recognized the voice on the ads! It's funny when you look at a pic of the champ. I expected this big guy that sort of looked like tom arnold with a little more muscle. He looks like a skinny older dude! lol
If we don't put in our buck-o-five who will? I'm here to talk about European ironing boards. And guns. Bigguns. |

Okay so unbeknownst to me, my company has been planning to send me to Vancouver near the end of this month... I'm planning on tacking on a couple days either before or after the event I have to be at.
SO.... The question is do I head north to Whistler for a couple days. Or head south east to Mt Baker? I could fly into/out of Abbotsford to make travel easy for Baker. I do like on hill accommodations and it looks like baker doesn't offer that. I'm tempted to do Whistler just to see what all the hype is about, but if baker gets that much better/more snow and is less busy maybe it's the place to go? |

The thing I have come to learn about politics (and religion or even sports) is that you will never change the other persons mind. Its like asking someone to stop cheering for their favorite sports team and start cheering for yours. Funny, much like sport fans there usually is no real reason why they love their team vs hate another. i.e. "why am I an eagles fan? Because I always have been. I was born a fan, my parents were fans, and never mind every player, leader and owner has changed 10 times over I am a eagles fan." The same stupid mentality is in politics. People follow a party first, and the issues second.
Whats my point? There is no point to political debates in online forums except for crapping on the other guy. I was never involved in the political forum because I find both sides of american politics to be out to lunch. I would much prefer a dictatorship...assuming of course I was the dictator. |

![]() Seriously, it's almost never about changing the other person's mind at the time. And for most people that's the same as never. But over time, if you have enough arguments and find yourself on the defensive enough times, and if you're honest enough, you'll start to rethink some of your assumptions. I know that over the last couple of decades I've moved steadily to the left. Back in the Preston Manning days, I was a staunch Reform supporter (for our US members, the Conservative party used to refer to the Reform party as fascists... ). It's also often about the audience. Snowolf and Jdang may never change each others' minds, but their argument can affect the opinions of those in the audience who may not have made up their minds (or petrified them) yet.
