Politics Forum is gone.

The Politics forum has gotten out of hand plain and simple.

Number one rule here for things running smoothly. Don't make it a headache for me. Which is what the Politics forum had become. Call it selfish, whatever you like, but since the level of disrespect had dropped to such a low level, I am inclined to act in the same fashion. I don't like it, so it's gone.

We are all snowboarders here, lets not forget we share that common interest. If everyone was just like you, this would be a pretty fucking boring place.

Political ass hattery threads posted in other forums are going to be deleted as soon as they take a wrong turn or if they are flat out inflammatory. There are plenty of other forums where you can your politics on. Not this one anymore.

If you want politics back, show some respect. Politics will get heated, I get that. People won't like what you have to say. Get away from badgering the person.

It's gone, and it's not coming back until I say so. Right now, my opinion is that if it never comes back again, it'll be too soon. You can try to change my mind if you like, but it had better be done respectfully...

Probably for the better. Snowolf and I would have got along most of the time if it wasn't for my crazy tin foil hat wearing, gun toting, rootin tootin extremist right wing views!

Sounds like a plan! I keep meaning to visit a good friend of mine in Vancouver with my board, would be fun to rent a car and head down your way to try some of the mountains of the PNW.

I've been thinking about boarding in Idaho sometime too... On the other hand I'm just starting to scratch the surface of the resorts around me so I won't get bored here anytime soon!

I'm going to miss the wilderness. I have to have respectful political debates with my co-workers. I liked being able to come right in here and jump headfirst off the deep end. For what the politics section was worth, I actually found it informative. Be it from sources people would share, or just someones honest opinion, no matter how vitriolic or intransigent.

Trouble is, and I'm guilty of this too, is that people are so intent on being right that they will spend a lot of effort searching for and providing "backup" for their opinion, while spending very little time actually studying the backup provided by others with a differing opinion.

I actually enjoy the political debates with my family much better than the ones here. There's quite the background of people in my family (many teachers, construction people, financial sector, retail management, etc.) so you get a whole bunch of different views, but all with the same sort of philosophy towards life...

My sister and brother in law are high school arts teachers, that support the conservative party, but had homosexual friends and care about the environment...

Well....bummer. I don't really get to talk politics with anyone I know in real life. Most people I know don't give a rat's ass about it, or they already know that debating with me is pointless since I have the stance that both sides suck. Oh well, I guess it's a reason to spend a lot less time here since I know fuck all about snowboarding.

Ding, ding, ding. From the limited time I spent in the politic's section, that is pretty much the impression that I got. It made my head hurt too much. =/
