Drunk with power...er beer.

The immediate answer is "because they grease themselves"
![]() Sorry, that was politically incorrect. But you were thinking it... Seriously, lilfoot, karasene, captt, any number of others who were around before me. It seems like the female members come on, stay for a while, then fade. And it's not like we're being neanderthals (mostly. Not naming any names. BurtonAvenger ) How about it, wimmin? Any comments?

Along those lines I wonder how the female retention rate compares to the male. Do we simply notice the girls leaving more because we notice the girls more or does a lower percentage then males.

Maybe we just don't know they're chicks. Some girl posted earlier today and if she didn't specifically say she was female I wouldn't have known.
I know this is over generalizing but it might be because guys give each other shit all the time in fun and we're cool with it. I don't know many girls like that. Maybe it's just not their thing. ...what is the female retention like on other forums? Any forum I'm on seems to be male oriented. Maybe forums in general are a guy thing?

For whatever reason, there is a serious lack of activity from female members even on female specific snowboarding sites or sites with a chick section. Check out some of those forums. Ghost towns.
This one actually seems to have more activity comparatively. I don't get it. Most women generally like to talk about things. One thing I've often wondered and been tempted to post is why there are all these threads about girlfriends or wives - gear questions, riding with them, whatever - yet none or not many of those women are or seem to be members here? Obviously this forum is comprised of mostly men. All of my riding friends are guys, so it's a normal environment to me. But perhaps it's not what some chicks are looking for? I don't know. And as for not naming names, (certain member) is much like my guy friends. So I find those posts more endearing and humorous rather than scary and offensive. Edit: I'm female if that isn't apparent. |

This may be totally wrong, but I think women are more likely to get help in real life, and so don't rely much on other sources.
Say some random beginner guy on the hill is having trouble, how many people are likely to go over and give advice? Now if it is an attractive female, I bet that number is much larger .. if my girlfriend wouldn't smack me for it .. I might help more ladies out too ;-) |

My wife has an account here. I should ask her what the deal is because she's never on here either.
