Well it Finnaly Happened. My HP Laptop Died
 

My Laptop just went to shits. With only 12 days left of warranty. I have a Hp Dv 6308Nr with a .

these are my specs.

Dual core Turion Amd 64 bit
1.60 gz processors
Nivida 6150 geforce card 64 megs Video ram, 524 megs shared.
2.5 gigs of ram
588 megs of video ram

Well i got home today from Wake boarding. I logged to check my email and to check up on politicson Cnn. My computer was working fine at the time so i leave and go to out to the movies. Well 2 hours later i come home and my Laptop is all out of whack. Nothing is showing up on the screen, and to make matters worse the pc keeps restarting every min. The fan would go on for about 5 secs and shut off.

So long story short i called Hp and they need to repair it. It will take 14-21 days to repair the pc and now i am without a home pc and its driving me nuts. Hp tech said that the Mother board either got fried from overheating or the connections are loose.

I might just sell the thing when i get it back and buy a better pc Can you guys recommend a Laptop in the 700-800 range

Avoid ANY laptop with shared video memory. You want the videa card to have it's own dedicated block. Anytime you set it up to share, you end up with 200x the page swaps causing millions of faults. This will destroy your performance because it puts more strain on the CPU, disk I/O, system bus, hell it's pretty death to any system. It's something a few vendors tried for a few months then realized it's a bad BAD idea.

Also, dell has an outlet shop. These are laptops that were sent back for whatever reason. Bad hard drive, customer didn't like it etc etc. They still have the full warranty as well.

i like playing online Rpgs. so i am looking for a decent laptop to play it on. I heard dell is great can you show me some good laptops.
