I knew about Europe being higher than everywhere else but not about Canada. But you see the issue mass transit, just like you said. Take Florida for example there is no system of mass trasit at all, yes some buses but thats it. We are stuck with driving in my case over 40 miles daily.

Well, we have Federal Sales tax, provincial sales tax, flat rate road improvement tax, etc. so we start out at higher prices than most US states anyway. Other than that, like most things Canadian, we're massively affected by all things American. Your demand for oil goes up, our oil companies can make more selling to the US so our domestic price goes up in response.

I just think that we North Americans are in for a nasty shock. I don't think that, as of this moment, we calculate the cost of gas when deciding to buy that McMasion in suburbia. Now that cost of commuting is starting to become a significant percentage of a mortgage payment, there's going to be a reaction.

Alright...so how does the $2.99 deal work??? Do u have to go to specific gas stations...do they give u a credit card??? or do they estimate 12k per year time avg mielage of a car??

And yes the US has had the lowest price for gas forever. Keep in mind however we drive alot more than say over Europe distance wize.

I cant help but laugh at the people driving these denali's and suburbans. Its only a matter of time before they giveup their status symbol.

They give you a credit card that you can used in any gas station. You pay your bill with that card and they pay the full amount of the bill. The card that they give you is connected to your bank account which will calculate the gallons used and multiply it by $2.99 and charge this amount to your account.

Default I dont drive...legally

They may be honest about the 2.99 deal but there are going to be hidden fees. Duh! Its America. Currently my transportation device, a lovely Free Agent Hellcat BMX bike is out of commision due to some worn out brake pads which have already caused a superficial accident( got hit by a van because I could not stop fast enough...stupid 5 yr old pads) Anyway, if you have noticed, it has been chrysler the past few years that's been coming out with all of these amazing deals like the lifetime warranty and so on. This is just another way they are trying to make a mass amount of money. The amount of people buying their cars should cover some of the gas costs.

I am not sure, if gas goes up to $6 a gallon, that company could see themselves in a bigger pickle than the one they are already in.

Bad girl , get some brakes thats a priority.
