Default Who is your favorite super hero?

So my housemate dragged me to Iron Man last night. It was...decent. Anyway, who is your favorite super hero, and why?

When I was a kid, it was Aquaman, cause I liked to swim. Now, it's Spiderman. Why? Cause he is just fuckin' cool. Although, I think the recent Spiderman movies were a real missed opportunity. They are all too hollywood sugar coated (compare with Batman Begins, which is very dark). The Spiderman series could have been really amazing if someone like the Wachowski Bros (The Matrix) had produced them. Oh well.

The Silver Surfer. Wielder of the power cosmic, plus he's a sideways slider. Too bad they did a crappy job on him in the FF Movie. Spiderman is definitely another favorite of mine. Sam Raimi very much caught the vibe of the comic. Spiderman is not a dark character like Batman, he has very very bad luck in his personal life. The third movie was just bad though.
Iron Man was fantastic, it might be the best superhero movie out there. Very well done and Robert Downey Jr was inspired casting as Tony Stark. The only problem is Iron Man's rogue's gallery is about the weakest and stupidest out there. I mean let's do a quick rundown of his major bad guys.
Most likely bad guy, the Mandarin and his ten glittering rings he found on a spaceship. Each controls a different power, Fire, Ice, some other energy, but none of the 10 rings control the power not to suck.

Then there's the Unicorn, ok enough of that one.

Whiplash, he wears a purple and black cape, stupid helmet and a whip. Yeah can't wait to see him.

Or how about the Melter? Guess what he does...

Fortunately they are bringing him into the Avengers world and there are a lot of great villains there.

Yeah, no question he caught the "spirit" of the comic book, and quite well. The entire move did have a very "comic" feel to it in how the story was told and presented. But, I think with some literary license, they could have been really, really amazing movies. Of course, the purists would have had a melt down.

when i was a nipper, i used to love reading Sergeant Rock comics...

as far as TV was concerned, it was Adam West's Batman

and in the cinema, Superman won the day.
but he is such a 'boy scout' i cannae stand him

there are no more super heroes

spiderman is cool cause he jumps and swings and stuff, which looks and seems like it would be fun, but batman is definitely the biggest badass of all. i wanna see what the new batman movie coming out will be like.
