Although our snowboards may be in hibernation that doesnt mean our lives are. Sure I love snowboarding but I also love the Summer. Obviously from the smiles on our faces above one can see life is pretty fun without a snowboard.

Use this thread to post pics of your Scenes from the Summer...come on....it isnt all that bad now is it

Default Havasu Canyon Hike Grand Canyon Arizona

This was last year. I am just now getting out of snowboard season up here and will add more rafting pics. Last year, I flew down the Phoenix and went for a 5 day backpack into Havasu Canyon. Day one, I hiked down to the village of Supai and camped by the falls. The next day, I hiked the 18 mile round trip down to the Colorado river and the next day I spent swimming in the pools. Day 4 saw me hike the 8 miles back up out and I drove to Flagstaff where I spent the night. Day 5 was spent driving back to Phoenix, turning in the rental car and flying back to Portland.

The complete album for anyone interested is here:

Awesome shots guys. I'll get some pics up ASAP. But for now, I'm going to bed. I didn't get any sleep last night.

Those pictures look amazing... I have never been in AZ, but have considered a trip there for the last 4 years.

That is one pristine little AZ sanctuary you found there. Care to disclose the latitude and longitude of that waterfall?

It is a major side canyon to the Grand Canyon. It is west and down river of the main Grand Canyon National Park. The area is home to the Havasupai Indians and 8 miles down in the canyon lies the village of Supai. You can backpack in or pay for a helicopter ride into the village from the rim. There is a hotel and a cafe. store and post office there along with the tribal headquarters, clinic and houses. After a day of hiking it is amazing to come into this little town down in the bottom of the canyon. Below the village about 2 miles are the campgrounds and these waterfalls. For a first time Grand Canyon backpack, Havasu offers up a little of everything great the Grand Canyon has to offer.
