Believe it or not, I can get 30 mpg highway in my Mustang...did it on a 5 hour trip with the cruise set at 70 the whole way.
![]() I'm not sure about city though...I'd imagine it's probably low 20s, if not lower. ![]() I haven't filled up in about 4 weeks though, since I'm able to walk everywhere on campus or take the bus, so gas prices aren't hurting me yet--that is, until winter rolls around and I have to drive an hour to go boarding! |

i get about 25-26 or so out of my outback.
not bad but i'm trying to get a motorcycle. the wife is NOT having that right now. not trying to get anything fast or cool. just something good on gas that will save miles on my car. that $1000 investment could potentially save a lot of cash in the long run. but the wife thinks i am going to kill myself. i've considered riding my bike to work since its only 11 miles but the roads i would have to travel on make me nervous. way too busy...

^^^^^I wish I saved my pictures of my two accidents in a bike, I have to say I am lucky to be alive and I also lost a good friend to a bike accident.
I am sorry to say this but I have to agree with your wife , don't get a bike!!!.Remember most of the accidents are not your fault, the problem is the people around you. Although in my case they were both my fault, my stupid young ass!!!Also $1000 bike will break a lot, trust me been there done that, they are not good investments. My 2002 Jetta 1.8T gets 29 in the city and 41 on the highway, which is pretty sweet if you can keep yourself from engaging the turbo every 2 seconds like I do.
I thought about a motorcycle as well, just not very practical for my life right now and most of the places I need to commute to I can reach by my bike...which has like 18 gears, a motorcycle only has 6 and we all know chicks love beer bellies and lots of gears!
