I'm a retired carpenter now running the cabinet division for Nor-Lake, Inc. We make everything from the topping cabinets at Dairy Queen to Scientific freezers that run at -86c. I love workin 4-10s and having every Friday off all winter, and then working all the overtime I want in the summer.

Land Surveyor here. GIS, Mapping and Legal. Work outside year round, although it does slow down in the winter. The work is pretty physical for not a lot of pay (unless you're a party chief) and come home during hot summers with almost no energy... I like working outside in the cold much more than working outside in the heat. Banking over time hours and vac pay ensures a paycheque on weeks off. Benefits are decent. In the summer when working on housing sites I get to watch hot guys work!

Before this job I was in college for environmental engineering and before that I worked at Honda Mfg. So glad I don't work in a factory anymore. There was a few times in the welding plants where it got above 60 C...

I run a cattle ranch in northern New Mexico, do a lot of web development and graphic design in the music and action sports industry, and I'm a touring musician.

I still have a lot of time to tie flies and fish, and ride in the winter!

This thread is great, so many people do amazing work!

Design Engineer for a large Helicopter Manufacturer.

Largly office based but its interesting at the final assembly line and build areas.

If you ever need a ride off the mountain (god forbid), could well be one of ours.
