Sorry if this, or a similar thread to it, has been posted before. I tried searching but didn't find anything. I'm trying not to be such a lurker anymore, but all I can think about right now is how pissed I'm feeling about work lately.

I have 2 jobs. 1) I'm a substitute teacher for high schools (job I'm currently pissed at...) and 2) part-time framer at an art and framing store called Aaron Brothers.

I mostly love the framing job, and occasionally take pictures of ridiculous shit people bring in to get framed... hahaha so bad it's good.

Subbing... it is hit and miss. Today mostly just sucked at the end of the day because of a few students. Thing I love most about subbing... short notice, I can just put days down as no-call days and go boarding if a storm is coming in

What is/are your job(s) and what do you like/dislike?

RN. Love that I can snowboard all day and work in the evening.... Or mtn bike/hike in the summer.

Food Scientist... love the job but wish I didn't have to travel as much. Also typically spend 50hrs/wk in the office

I formulate cheese. I work with our customers to design/formulate products that meet nutritional, performance, and flavor needs for their product. If you eat cheese... chances are you eat or have eaten a product I (or the company I work for ) have designed.

I restore old houses, can be very frustrating at times. Shit is rotten, out of plum, square and or level. More often then not all the room trim (base/crown/door/window) is "one-of" hand carved shit that I have to custom CNC re-fab. Nothing is ever standard sized, like doors, windows ect. Which is a large part of my business, installing modern doors and windows. However this is a lot more rewarding then working on or building the new half million dollar pieces of shit they slap up today.

I also work with a property management Co. (trash outs, new tenant prep ect.), and run roofing/siding crews in the spring/summer/fall and now winter since we don't have them around here any more.

Since I work for myself I can do what I want when I want with in reason.

I work at a salmon hatchery. It's seasonal right now, so I have December through most of March off work. That would be great if I made more while I was working. It may turn into a year-round thing soon, but I'm also looking at more lucrative gigs in the major local industry, crude oil transport.

What I hate about it most is being fairly poor (though that would be helped greatly if it was year-round), and that it's often so physical that I don't have any energy after work to go do anything fun. What I love about it is that it's largely project oriented, has both outdoor and laboratory components, is much more interesting than an office job, and I work with mostly really good people. Also, being able to go out at lunch and sit by the bay and watch sea lions, otters, eagles, bears, and so on is pretty darn cool.

Night loader at a beer and liquor distributor. I stack the beer on skids that go in the delivery trucks. I lift thousands of cases of beer a week and have broken more beer then you ever will. It is quite the sight to see a whole skid of beer fall over.
