Not tobacco, weed.

I don't smoke weed. I've dabbled in high school but I didn't really like it. So I don't understand how people get high then go ride. I guess it just affects me differently because when I am high I just don't feel like doing anything (read: worthless). I guess it's a totally different sensation when you're going down the mountain just high as shit...

I'm not against weed though. In fact we should legalize it, but that's another discussion altogether.

Nah, never smoked and never will. But two of my roommates for the summer do and it doesn't bother me, as long as the smoke doesn't creep into my room--that smell gives me a headache!

Weed is no worse than tobacco. More chemicals are put into tobacco than weed, and it is also more addictive. That is not to say that smoking weed all the time is not any better, but I digress.

As for myself, I don't smoke weed. Never really found the need/want for it. But I've got several close friends who toke none stop. Personal choice.

Actually I really like the smell of weed, I just don't like smoking it, and I don't like getting high.

When my friends toke I am usually there just so I can smell it, ahah!

I smoke pretty much every day in the evening while I'm relaxing, not the best habit considering its been going on 10 years now. Personally I don't experience any of the lack of motivation or other stereotypes associated with weed, although I do get the munchies now and again. Maybe I would stop if my doctor would stop giving me a clean bill of health

i enjoy it, but only in the right situations, like a relaxed concert or if im laxing out on the beach on a perfectly sunny day with a beer. I could never smoke it often, i find it hard to socialise when im stoned, hard to string together what im saying. i'd rather drink in those situations.

They won't make weed legal as it is easy to grow yourself, so its hard for them to tax you

from my sources one joint has as many carcinogens as 10-15 cigarettes. the reason ppl dont think its bad is because it hasnt been studied much. ive also heard it leads to throat and mouth cancer. medically it is unnecessary because there are other drugs that do the same thing without the harmful side effects .

but hey, thats all info from health class and from the ADA, so it could just be scare tactics from the government lol.

if you look at the number of deaths from cigarettes it is massive. And then look at the number of deaths from weed 0. I would say it is a lot healthier to smoke weed. Plus the cannabanoids inside weed actually have cancer fighting agents in them.

on the basis of the items themselves, this is entirely true. tobacco is packed with additives, to promote the smoke consumers expect, but also to maintain burn. such compounds also promote an addictive property; ie a physiological dependence, whereas cannabis is NOT at all addictive, but simply habitual (hence Perp and his nightly puffs)

however, the behaviours associated with spliff smoking can make it comparably unhealthy to cigarettes etc. you see the popularised imagery of taking a toke, breathing deeply (usually thru teeth for why?) and holding it forever, before billowing out a cloud. no cigarette smoker enjoys their drug like this!

the action of retaining smoke in the lungs promotes the risk of adopting carcinogenic properties. deepening the inhalation also ensures more smoke forms a residual volume in your lungs.

for spliffs to be less damaging than cigarettes YOU MUST:

-toke as per a regular ciggie
-do not inhale deeply, but exhale as much as you possibly can (a good tip is also to cough like a maniac after you stub your blunt out)
-don't mix tobbacco in with the herb.

all things considered, cannabis is one of the oldest ever cultivated plants in human civilisations; it is useful for a myriad number of things; it has been widely studied the world over (altho less in the USA due to draconian laws) and of all narcs, it is the most harmless, being less damaging than booze or fags.
