^^^ Did wolfy put a thread up about that and where? I didn't see it. Paolo's thread is still there. I don't see any reason why someone would move or delete it. Give me more info...

The site was all whacked after their restore so after about half a day, they did another restore wiping any posts between to two times. It shows the SQL backups are STILL not configured right. But hey, at least they have some backups this time.

I've offered to configure them for free, shit I'll even write a bunch of tuning and monitoring procedures so the site will call them when it goes tits up. SQL is easy, and I'd really just be copy/pasting stuff I already have written. I wish they'd let go of that damn pride and just accept some outside help.

That page is a load of crap, I have been trying to fully activate my account for 6 months now. The only thing they claim is that they are working on their system and that I have to wait. Fuck that shit.

So I opened another account and then they claimed that this account was fully activated, but guess what?? now I can't upload an Avatar, no matter how much I tried, nothing comes up. I know I am doing everything right, the picture says uploaded but it wont display.

On a side note, I can't believe you guys abandon me here and go there more ....

Oh by the way I think I have like 4 accounts and they are all garbage none works properly, I gave up trying like 5 months ago.

Update.... just tried again, and garbage again.... Whats new

haha I take that back. The first restore was borked but it was July 12th. So they restored to June 12th. I guess they're still only doing backups once a month. That's pretty shitacular. A year later and they still haven't learned.

I'm sure the excuse will be a bad NIC card again. You know, I don't even buy that the programmers who left "hacked" or placed bugs in the site before leaving. I think they just f'ed it and f'ed it more and more as they tried to fix it.

On a sad note, this rollback may be the one that kills the site off for good.

Guys look. U all have been loyal dedicated members over there as I was. Interstingly enough its been a year coming since the crash. Many migrants came here starting 8/10.

I think its only fair to take a look at the direction of both sites and review the results....

This site has skyrocketed. The mood is friendly, newbies are always welcome. There is a great mix of vetran riders, and never beens who want to try it. We have had one successfull meet(very successfull) and two more new ones are already in the works. Since I joined over 2656 new members have signed on here. I can tell by the bottom of the main page, many come back over and over again...u can see who is active. Administration is very communicative to its members. The mods have it easy here and they have done an excellent job. They dont have to be on cybercop patrol every second...Even the politics forum which honestly I thought would be a bad thing is gone off perfectly(thanks to wolfie and others), I stand corrected....

The other site has gone in the opposite direction...The "Faith" and "Loyalty" they wanted members to have has been long gone.

Simply put. U all gave it your best shot...even u mods over there..u did the best you could with faith and loyalty in a situation you shouldnt have to even deal with. I think its time you simply move on. A new version will NOT change the real issues they have.

That site is going to be what it is. If everyone leaves, new people will eventually join in and make it something different. If the site remains of course. The owner of the site was offered something like a 7 figured deal for TOS several years ago. I know that has gone down, but the domain name is definitely worth some big bucks. So maybe they'll just sell it to Burton or something and move on. I don't know. Either it sticks around and we can keep bitchin' about (hey at least it's something) it or it'll go by by. I know if someone offered me the type of money they did for it, I would have taken it and left. Too much headaches for me to deal with it.
