I'm probably wrong, but dude got pretty smartass when he flippantly said "bye bye" and her response was equally as smartass. That really deserves double the punishment?

I get it, don't give someone in a position of power to make your life worse, but c'mon, upping her bond to $10,000 bucks!? Seems a bit excessive to me.

I disagree with giving her 30 days in jail, but she had to see that coming after a simple "adios" got her double the fine. She had to see that flipping the judge off was gonna be no bueno

How could you disagree with 30 days in jail for telling a Judge to fuck off? What do you think should happen.

I've been to court plenty and I've never seen a judge put up with smart ass or disrespectful behavior.

I mean.... She told the judge to go fuck him self while flipping him off. A judge.

Also, I'm pretty sure the bond was 10k to begin with and he had cut it to 5k.

honestly, I've never been to court, but I don't think judges deserve all this "respect" bestowed upon them. I've always been one to think that respect is something earned. I'm sure dealing with people like her all day, every day is a giant pain in the ass, but it's easy for me to disagree with 30 days for contempt, especially after watching that video several times. She was being a fucking moron no doubt, but I don't think she was being disrespectful towards the judge until he got shitty with her and said "bye bye".

I'm not saying what she did was smart. 30 days in jail for a curse word just seems excessive to me that's all. I guess what I'm getting at is I'm smart enough that if I was put in that position, I would never disrespect the guy because it's just not worth the trouble. I'm just saying that 30 days in jail for flipping the bird seems like an abuse of power. I could see adding another fine on top instead of jail time. Just my opinion dude.

There's the extended version of the event, where a lawyer even questions the way the judge found her in contempt of court without appointing her council or warning her.

Again, I'm not trying to defend her actions. She was stupid. But from what I understand about the judicial process, typically, before being found in contempt of court, you are warned for your behavior.

Right on and I see what your saying. I just, myself, don't see 30 days as excessive for that kind of behavior.

She didn't just curse, she cursed at the judge.

I guess I've just been in court too many time and understand the attitude judges have and the respect they demand. The only worse thing you could do besides cursing at a judge would be physical. I've been called up and embarrassed for having a cap on, and I ain't talking gangsta style.

Judges have attitudes and they aren't always, and don't have to be, fair.

A buddy of mine got a 2 day deal for contempt. I don't remember the exact reason but it was nothing even close to telling a judge to fuck off. And you're right, I think he was warned.

In any event I was laughing my ass off when at the judge. He couldn't believe what he heard......'did you just tell me to fuck off'
