could Cuil become lager than Google ?

Ex-Google workers launch rival search engine - Jul. 28, 2008

I find it hard to believe that they could grow to become larger that google is. But you never know, supposedly it searches 3 times the amount that google does.

I am not sure if I like the black layout of the page.

Well I searched snowboarding and snowboard forums. None of the usual heavy hitter sites, (Sb.com, this site, snowboardaddicts, TGR) came up. Pretty lousy search engine so far...

i agree with killz. i hit it up when i read that article this morning and was less than impressed with the search results. didnt find that "3 times faster" than google either.

I like the black, but then again there is Blackle.

Cuil, in short, sucks. I spent about 30 min doing comparative searches on it and Google this morning. Google produced a far more varied and substantive search. And this was just off the main google page, since Cuil does not have blog/shopping/news search options, their results were even more crippled.

They drew a lot of attention to themselves today. Unfortunatlly, it was attention to a substandard product. I wont go back.

hype? more like a flash in the pan. it got its 15 minutes of fame and then everyone forgot about it. mostly because its an inferior product (IMO)
