this is an interesting and revealing piece of thought. the concept of other dimensions, just like 'life after death', is a theory of fantasy, conjured up by human sourced wishful thinking. by their its own definition, it exists due to being unprovable.

clearly such a removed dimension, be it in time or space, is so far removed that we have seen nothing of it. and yet we retain the idea that it could be. this is reminiscent of God theory, of outer space teapot theory and the flying spaghetti monster theory.

such 'possibilities' exist only because we have the ability to imagine them, and nothing more.

issues of theology and the supernatural do not like scientific endeavour. this is because thus far, all scientific endeavour has concluded that such things are utterly bogus. of course, when the day arrives (which it won't) that science proves a god or ghost or whatever, such believers will suddenly embrace those disciplines they so strenuously claim to be irrelevent today. indeed, vast amounts of money are spent towards finding such 'scientific proof' but as none is found, we hear nothing about it!

Paolo, despite being British, I usually agree with you and find you to be grounded in good critical thought and judgment. Here, however, I think your statement is a bit off the mark.

There have been numerous cases where the same freaky-ass thing in sky has been caught on video tape by major news agencies, airport control towers, handheld cameras, and witnessed by hundreds of people. Fantasy, properly defined, is to say that mere "human imagination, fantasy and presumption" can dismiss such events. This is not say that such events are per se extraterestial, but there is clearly something going on, no matter what that source is.

Not, I am not agruing for or against the existence of another demension, ghosts, UFO's, etc in anything that follows. I am only arguing against the logic of the statement above.

Paolo, simple because something is "unprovable" does not mean that it does not exist. All it means is that we limited understanding of that thing, at this point in time. If anything, the best support for that is the history of science itself.

Science is filtered through the lense of human understanding, which is limited. Limited knowledge will always provided a skewered perspective of reality. Moreover, how do you define "proof?" Science sees things occur in deep space all the time that it has no expliantion for. Are these things "wishful thinking" because science can't "prove" what is happening, at this point in time? Were bacteria, virus, and plague "wishful thinking" before a cause could be proved by science?
