Being from San Diego, I've become quite spoiled with the west coast's obsession with IPAs & Belgians... I love a good nasty red ale too, and I rarely step outside ales.
Really fond of the local flavors from Green Flash, Alesmith, Coronado, Ballast Point, and of course Stone... Wow there are too many to name. If you are ever in San Diego, stop by Hamilton's Tavern, or Monkeypaw... There are too many others that are amazing, but these have a special place with me.
I travel a lot for music reasons, and I've found that the west coast seems to have the liveliest flavor profiles in the country...
Just like coffee - I prefer very bold, distinct flavors, dynamic tastes, and either citrusy or earthy profiles.
