Tried some Village Wit last night (a local Calgary brewery) and it was pretty good! I'll need to try again to give it a real go. Had a couple bottles with some rib eye and asparagus that I cooked up.

My buddy was making fun of me for BBQ'ing the asparagus and cooking the steak in the oven and cast iron pan...

FWIW, I would have made fun of you too. But in that friendly, "really?" kind of way.

Oh yeah!? Well, my mom says I'm cool!

Went to the local tap room by my house last night and had one of these. Would have had another, but it's 9.9%, so I had a light 4.5% wheat beer named Dog Days of Summer to finish it up. Then I went to my buddy's house and we drank some Pluot by New Belgium Brewing Co., which is an amazing 10%abv fruit beer. It was sooooo good. Oh, and the name of this delicious pictured Belgian is The Giant Made Of Shadows by Silver City Brewing Company.

Hey, that sounds good to me. I always sear my steaks in cast iron. I don't usually finish them in the oven though, because I like mine pretty rare.

Right now I'm eating homemade sushi and drinking my newest homebrew, a walnut vanilla porter.

I do the opposite!!! Start in the oven to 95 deg F internal temp, then 1:30 each side in a hot iron pan...

Would love to make sushi one of these days...

Okay, that is weird. I'd make fun of you too.

It's a little intimidating, but really not hard at all. I'd made a few rolls at a friend's house before, but this was my first time doing it all myself. Not perfect, but super tasty.

Hubby and I are sharing a couple of Brewdog beers I picked up while on my lunch break today. Good times!

I'm not much of a vodka snob by any stretch of the imagination but swear by Sobieski when it comes to good cheap vodka. My wife is Polish and brought this home one night. I won't buy anything else anymore.

As for beer, during the summer my day to day beer would be a good pilsner after work (Hofbrau, Lech, etc). My weekend/bar beer is any IPA on tap. Dogfishhead 60/90 being my go-to.
