This happened to me with rock climbing, between guiding and setting up comps it became a real drag. I find its good to have a few sports because then you can switch over to give yourself a break and usually the motivation comes back...or you just end up liking the new sport more, c'est la vie!

I say be happy that you have a couple of sports you're passionate about, some people never find one they click with.

You bring up a really good point. Everything I did was more about the job than it was about having fun...
Gee, reminds me of my old charter captain fishing days. Thats right I was a charter captain..notice I dont say fisherman..big difference.

See years ago I loved fishing, had boats all my life, love the water, great tactical fisherman. I could spend days out there and those rare days I didnt catch anything, didnt matter..because it was fishing.

Then I got a dumb Idea. Im gonna become a charter boat captain, make lots of money doing what I love to dobig mistake!

Once I got into it the word fishing was replaced with "Better fukin catch us a fish or we want our money back". Cant say as I blame the jerseyites. They pay alot of money to go on my boat $600.00 exactly so I understood.

But it wasnt fun anymore. It was work, pain in the ass work. Thank god I developed an environmentally friendly cleaner anyone with a boat or rv or whatever could clean! That got me out of the chartering business and simply back into fishing for fun theory..

What was a hobby became work and it wasnt very fun down the road.

Simple if you don't love it anymore quit. The day I don't love my job or don't love snowboarding I'm going to quit and persue a career in bounty hunting.
