Freebord - Snowboard the Streets
 

I have been snowboarding for a long time. Unfortunately I live in New Jersey and snowboarding season isn't that long. Freebording is the best alternative to snowboarding I've ever seen. i was on a search for sometime of board to ride during the off season to try to relive that itch. I tried longboarding and looked into some types of alternative board which all sucked. Then I found the freebord. It's the first board to be able to move like a snowboard, it feels so awesome to be able to snowboard any street you see. if you have big hills near you and want something to do in the off season check it out.

Yes sorry I kinda spammed the forum lol I just want ot get the word out ya know? This is the best discovery I've ever made haha. I truly can snowboard anytime I want and it's the coolest feeling. No hills is out of reach, nothing is too big or too steep. Every snowboarder would love it!

Freebords aren't that new.

They are wayyyy harder to ride then the videos show. You have to learn how to do it, it's not gonna be like "oh I know how to snowboard, this is the same"... it's completely different.

A bit pricey as well. Freebords might be fun once you get the hang of it but screw it, I'm just gonna stick with my skateboard.

I agree, a normal skateboard is so much better for me on the streets. my mate has a freebord, hes awesome at it and it seems like he has alot of fun but it is hard to learn

Definitely not bro. Flowboarding might be fun but it doesnt even come close to snowboaring or the ride that a freebord offers. A freebord can slide in any direction at any speed, it can carve like a snowboard and stop like a snowboard. Check out this video to understand how it works.

Skateboards are better for tricks in the park. A freebord is about the ride, the unique feeling of being able to move like a snowboard over the pavement. A freebord is meant to be ridden down hills like a snowboard, you can safely go much faster on a freebord than a skateboard. $280 bucks is less expensive than any good snowboard set up and w a freebord you never have to pay for a lift ticket :P It's really not that hard to learn either. I've only been doing it a couple months.

Looks pretty fun but they're pretty expensive.

question - how fast you wear out wheels?
also when your strapped in and bail on the snow its not too bad (snow is softer and your wearing more clothing)
hows bailing on pavement? im sure you cant just pop off like a skate board
