I'll get mine from last year up here by tomorrow... trying to figure out what I'm gonna do this year. I want to get into some of the shading work this time
Shading is alot of fun. Its not hard at all. The toughest part is knowing where and what to shade vs cut thru. When u combine the two properly u get the effect u want...hopefully. Keep in mind you need alot of backlight to make it work. Some stuff you shade deeper, some not so deep.
Last time I did this guy was back in 2005. I was going to bring him back this year but unfortunately he didnt make the cut
Some friends of mine who own a restaurant are having a halloween party tomorrow. They asked if I would draw and carve something for it. They gave me the pumpkin so I figured it would be a good time to get the rust out. Plus I get to go to the party!!
So I banged out a favorite people love to see year after year.
This guy proudly comes back every year and has been for the past 20 years or so.
Before I went out last night, my neighbors were hanging around and we were talkin pumpkins. The kids wanted me to carve one for them this year. I noticed they already had some at their house so I went over and got one and chipped it out for them.
This favorite comes back every three years. I chose to do this one now because when I asked the girl what she is going to dress up as she told me a witch.
When I was a kid one of the things that really scared me was "the wolfman". As much as it scared me I loved to watch the movie both original and newer ones. I do alot of wolves when I carve. This ones my favorite. Here u go wolfie...
For years I would carve turkeys for thanksgiving basically for my mom. Nowadays people bring pumpkins over and ask me to carve one for them for thanksgiving. It grows and grows each year. Last year I did six of them. I never did put this guy in the Pumpkin Patch and I normally wouldnt because Halloween is well over by then. He makes a great centerpiece at any thanksgiving party. In a rare appearance I am pleased to present the master of ceremonies.
master of ceremonies my bum.... try the main course....hope he's organic free range, no growth hormones, etc etc. and not one of those "all breast" genetically altered creatures....oh and slaughtered in a humane and kosher way.
These babies are nice and healthy. $2.00 each. They saw me comin a mile away Now its time to get the marker out and start drawing. Hopefully were gonna turn these plain Janes into masterpieces
