The prices for quality gear are so outrageous ($500 ain't pocket change) that the average person will just go to the local MegaloSportsCo where the trained monkeys will pick out any cheap crap at random for them.

The Internet has killed the boardshop. Boardshops have killed the boardshop. Adjust your prices to match current retail/competitor prices and call it a sale, weee!

10% more than everywhere else != 75% off

Most of the action we got trough out the summer was from people asking for "what board should I get" and never fucking post again. FUCK THAT SHIT.

The other 30% of the posts was from solid members that log in all year around. You guys will get used to it I guess.

But overall I have seen that activity triple if not more.

Don't mind the lurkers, fellas... but be warned lurkers:

USE THE DAMN SEARCH FUNCTION!

I swear, if more people used the search, we wouldn't have all these damn threads about which board to buy, yadda yadda...

Boardshops haven't killed themselves. Most boardshops that I have been in sell the new equipment either right at MSRP or just above or below, and by just above or below its by pennys. When they have actual sales on new stuff its always like 10%-15% off but that is always for a limited time. I know that my local shop gives you 10% off a new setup when you buy boots, board and bindings.
