My buddy has a Dell XPS One touchscreen running windows 8. I don't know why, but the touchscreen seems to make it less clunky, but it still sucks balls.

I made the switch to Mac 2 years ago and will never go back. Yeah, I had a huge learning curve, and Mac/apple people can get douchey, but it's still better than windows. Believe me, I tried to hate Apple, but they make an awesome product.

Yeah well Microsoft launched it and marketed it, and now they are stuck with their decision.

I work for the IT dept for a school district we are about to get a new batch of teacher laptops and my boss is set on going to 8. FML this is going to suck. It is worthless without a touchscreen as thats what its designed around.

My whole office is moving to Windows 8 and Server 2012 in the next month or so. Very glad I'm not on that project team...

Even in desktop mode nothing is the same. You have to leave your desktop to find anything. And the programs are now apps. It's a joke. They made IE more user friendly with multiple tabs so you wouldn't have to toggle through windows. But they make their OS so you have to toggle through everything? Talk about wasting time. Instead of 2 mouse clicks to open a program it takes 5-8 plus typing.

Like I said earlier.... download a 3rd party Windows Start menu.... and Win 8 isn't annoying.

How to get the Start menu back in Windows 8 | Windows 8 - CNET Reviews

there is also cheat referred to as "God Mode" that works on both Win 7 and Win 8.

That's a good start. I still don't know why I keep getting kicked out of destop mode when I open any media files. I may just go back to Windows 7.

Even windows 7 has crashed on me twice. I just put Linux on my laptop.... A little slower but much more stable.
