Before you edited your post into a list I thought it read: A 1998 national geographic magazine-cover story:Great Whites, Roll of TP and wondered, was 1998 a slow year for natgeo?

Sucks to have had sentimental items stolen from you, though. I was bummed to see a lucky hawk feather on the list

A few years ago on a vacation to DC, some crooks broke into my dads truck. They broke in and took his wallet (which he foolishly left) and some change out of the dash.

They left the head unit, left 3000 dollars worth of tools in the back seat, $500 emergency cash in the glovebox and my moms 200 dollar coat.

They popped the lock with a screw driver...

Me on the other hand the thieves know exactly what to take from me. ive had 2 iphones and pair of dr. dre beats stolen out of the locker rooms.

I live in a downtown Chicago neighborhood, and after many years in this city I've just decided to leave my doors unlocked. I just make sure never to leave anything valuable in the car.

The most a thief would make away with is a few cigarettes and maybe a couple dollars in loose change, but they're not breaking my windows to get to it.

The thieves in my neighborhood will try to take anything of remote value, to try to raise just enough money for their next fix.

I need to have my alarm system re-installed, I've noticed they never mess with cars that have an alarm (in my neighborhood at least).

That's horrible man I'm sorry about your losses.

I had an old car that I took off the road and left it behind our shop near some railroad tracks. I had a feeling it might get broken into so I took anything of value out of the car. I wrote a letter and left it in the car. It said " If you are breaking into this car make sure you set it on fire so I can collect the insurance". After about a few months I sold the car on Craig's List. When I returned the driver side window was smashed and the letter was gone.
