Sounds like everyone's okay from the initial reports. Scary stuff!

No one killed, and it sounds like no one seriously injured, so good news. Sounds like a real traffic nightmare is the worst result of this. But hey, they'll get a new bridge out of it...

^^Wrath, where do you work?

Grew up in MV and my parents still live there. So crazy, I'm still kinda in shock. I've driven over that bridge probably close to 1000 times over the years. Traffic is gonna suck hardcore for the next 6 months to a year as there's really no good detour at all. It's really a miracle that nobody was seriously hurt or killed.

Live in the ham and just picking up some hours doing evals at the hospital, jail and those kinds of social services in Skagit...mainly at the hospital. I might try chuckanut to 20 to the westside of MV but I'd imagine that anything coming off the islands are going right downtown MV or perhaps a bit further south to La Conner to Conway.

Got any ideas to avoid the shitstorm...and I just looked up the ymca incase I need a shower or swim.

^^I'd take 9 south from Sedro, past College Way, then in on Division (via Mount Vernon Big Lake Road) to MV. I'm guessing anybody who's taking Hwy 9 as a bypass is going to take College Way.
