i think on the whole, the general attitude of seppos and limies is pretty identical, especially with regard to popular culture.
however, whilst the seppos are prone to big upping themselves and generally feeling and expressing that they are 'the best'; limies seem more inclined to simply get shit faced drunk and beat the shite out of anyone that annoys them. the americans will tell you how they feel (for hours) before acting, where the brit will lurk with almost silent menace, give one veiled threat and then just medaeval. (from what i have observed)

for example, i went to a conference meal last week in stockholm. the booze was flowing; everyone had at least some reduction of their inhibitions..... there were reps from the world over; all euro nations, south african, indian, korean, japanese, chinese.... all of them (except canuck strangely enuff) without a shadow of a lie nor with even a nano of exaggeration the one voice, that permeated the ENTIRE conference room, ie was way louder than all others, even at the heights of inebbreation, was that coming from the US based contingent. for sure this was one person on one occasion, but at the risk of expecting you to take my word for it, it is a trend that i see in all americans. even the one we have here at work is easily within the top noise makers, in ANY situation. like i said LOUDER

well, you didn't catch my sarcasm, so i'll speak it here in a softer voice
![]() i can tell you i'm not exceptionally loud, rather most people say "what?" when i speak to them. they also say i slur my words when i speak. i have been told that i speak too quickly though. and have heard that generalization about americans in general. another thing i've been told (more than once) by non-native americans is that i seem worldly. now, that's not coming from my mouth...i mean, it is, but simply by repeating what i've been told by someone from England, Jamaica & Germany. even people from America have asked if i was from this state or that state...never have i been pinned to be from Virginia. again, that's from other people's mouths...don't think i'm being full of myself

as far as i know, it is true. i have seen many americans, i have lived there and i have been to many other places and as far as impact to my ears goes.... seppo all the way.
but as said at the very beginning, these are limited experiences to me and me alone. i don't think it is true (so to speak) for all americans, as my first post in here said this topic would be dealing entirely with stereotypical generalisations. so take it for what it is and without shouting too much, don't get offended! (incidentally, being a limey, i wouldn't have reacted to my previous post with GTFO; but instead would have elaborated how i felt you were incorrect! ) point proven!
