how so?

which strategy for reinstalling the 'glory days' would you recommend? clicking your heals together or just a liberal sprinkling of fairy dust?

this whole 'post Obama victory' attitude of "anything is possible" really loses credence with the inability of some to remain within the realms of reality.

the site sucks and so it shall always be. i bet you a round of Jager bombs!

I'm going to gouge my eyes out if you use "clique" again.

Just checked the site again today and what is going on is exactly what I pointed out in my previous post. IF you go to sb.com, you get a new domain hosting site page that basically says the domain isn't registered or hosting for the domain is not configured. How many people would know to check out colonies.com? Sure if you've been around for awhile, you know they got bought by colonies, but if you've always typed in sb.com and weren't a technical person, how would you know.

So assume you know to go to colonies.com and you see a page that says that the site is down for maintenance, and says to check back soon for the new version. No serious timeline (Fall? Vague much?!?) and its been days with no change to the message. The site is run by a bunch of chumps, who alienates their user base like that?

And that's the issue right there, it says they're down for unscheduled maintenance (meaning not planned, right?) and then they're talking about rolling out a new version sometime soon. One would assume that the reason the site is down is because of one of those crashes they want to prevent with the new version, but then why is the site not back up yet? It's been days, completely unacceptable IMO.

As far as the hosting company goes, it seems like they're with someone else now. Who knows why, but my understanding was that their hosting company was never the problem anyway, just low cash and a poorly created database. My guess is they will keep the snowboard.com name, but they definitely don't need to since everything is under the colonies domain now anyway. The only thing the sb.com is used for now is redirecting people to the snowboard page of the colonies site when they type in sb.com.

Again, no one has a clue because they never tell you. Maybe it'll be down for weeks like it was just over a year ago, or it'll come back today, who knows?

Cash flow is the problem with that site, pretty simple to explain. Definitely a situation out of their own making and the repercussions from it are evidently hard to recover from. I have a hunch if the money was there, whatever they needed to do to get the site back up would have been done. I just don't think it's there. I honestly hope tos makes a comeback, but every time that site goes down, it damages the membership base. Will V3 ever materialize? Good question I have no idea.

If SierraSnowboard's forums weren't full of Burton-Custom-Loving-Shaun-White-Hating douchebags, I'd troll there more.

Uhg. I'd block that forum out like a childhood rape.
