JJ Watt nails 59.5" jump

I wish I had hops like that. Imagine my ollies!

His vertical leap at the NFL combine was measured at 37" which is nothing special (not bad for a guy his size though).

To put that in perspective, Michael Jordan's vertical was 48" and quite a few current NBA players have verts over 40".

whats even cooler is he is from the city next to me. His 2 brothers are also great football players.

I'm positive I could do 48" onto box like that:bowdown:

I'm sure I'm not the only one here in snowboardland either:dunno:

A 37" vertical leap for a guy who is 6'5" 290# is absolutely incredible. MJ was an inch taller and about 70# lighter. That's a huge difference.

Yeah but this is 6' almost. Plus dude is like 290 lbs. Quite impressive to move that much mass.

Like the Gronk brothers.....love to see that food bill every month :)

Don't forget the Jones brothers. Arthur Jones is a DT for the Baltimore Ravens, Chandler Jones is a DE for the New England Patriots, and Jon Jones is the current UFC Light Heavyweight champion. Ridiculous.

The weight makes a difference but LeBron James is about 270 and has over a 40" vert. Height has nothing to do with vert.

2013 NFL Combine Results - Defensive Ends - NFL DraftTracker - ESPN

There were defensive ends this year that had higher verts than Watt at the combine so I don't get all the hoopla.

It is impressive to jump that high regardless of who else can do it. I'm certain I can't do it.

59 1/2" is 1/2" short of 5 feet though, not 6 feet.
