His vertical leap at the NFL combine was measured at 37" which is nothing special (not bad for a guy his size though).

To put that in perspective, Michael Jordan's vertical was 48" and quite a few current NBA players have verts over 40".

A 37" vertical leap for a guy who is 6'5" 290# is absolutely incredible. MJ was an inch taller and about 70# lighter. That's a huge difference.

Yeah but this is 6' almost. Plus dude is like 290 lbs. Quite impressive to move that much mass.

Don't forget the Jones brothers. Arthur Jones is a DT for the Baltimore Ravens, Chandler Jones is a DE for the New England Patriots, and Jon Jones is the current UFC Light Heavyweight champion. Ridiculous.

The weight makes a difference but LeBron James is about 270 and has over a 40" vert. Height has nothing to do with vert.

2013 NFL Combine Results - Defensive Ends - NFL DraftTracker - ESPN

There were defensive ends this year that had higher verts than Watt at the combine so I don't get all the hoopla.

It is impressive to jump that high regardless of who else can do it. I'm certain I can't do it.

59 1/2" is 1/2" short of 5 feet though, not 6 feet.
