Default Mixed Martial Arts anyone?

Not sure if anyone else likes MMA or if there is already a thread (not I didn't search). I saw the Couture v Lesnar fight. Was anyone really surprised Lesnar won? He's a freak and Randy is getting pretty old.

I don't care too much for UFC, but I would pay to see Lesnar get his giant butt handed to him by Fedor Emelienenko.

I kinda sorta care at odd times. I watched the Couture-Lesnar just cause someone linked to it, and well, I remember Lesnar from the WWE, so it's weird for me to realize that he's legit.

I thought Couture did well considering. Lesnar was looking pretty exhausted, but I think Couture got so wrapped up in his gameplan of tiring Lesnar out by leaning on him (Which, admittedly, was the only thing that could have worked.) that he made some mistakes, and Lesnar made him pay hard. A patently unfair fight, since Couture had to execute perfectly to have a shot, and all Lesnar had to do was land a few solid shots.

Anyone else reminded of the Rocky Vs. Ivan Drago (God knows Lesnar looks like Drago) fight from Rocky IV?

Randy definitely had the edge in striking, but he got caught. Everyone has a puncher's chance. It's really as simple as that.

Even though both of them are wrestlers, Randy was giving up what, like ~50 lbs to Brock? Dude is so fast and so strong, the only real hole in his game is striking.

I'm a brown-belt in Shotokan Karate. I actually tested for black-belt, but was too nervous and messed up my kata. Then I got in a motorcycle wreck and had a compount fracture of my arm. Havn't been back to karate since. That said, I feel like I should be a MMA fan, but I just can't get into it.

Moto GP, or moto cross? I'm down wit GP. Rossi rules, but Stoner is pretty good, too.

Heck yeah MotoGP.

Can't wait for next season. Hayden on the Ducati and Dovi on the factory Honda!

I tried getting into it but all the fights I've seen seem to be 99% hype and 1% fight, really disappointing to have an hour lead-up only for it to end in the first round

It's rare when you actually see a good fight. Probably the best one I've seen was the Ultimate Fighter finale between Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonner.

WEC has some really good fighters in the 145-lb division too.
