Question The name game!

Hey guys and gals,

I'm expecting a little guy this coming January, a week after my 12th anniversary with my significant other. Since he's due at the end of January, I'm hoping to bake a little longer and get into February

Anywho, I'm looking for name suggestions for my little guy. We are a mixed race couple, me being Polish and my hubs is Guyanese. Anything Slavik will not be considered!

So far he likes Damien, but I don't so much because every boy and guy I've known with that name is evil haha. I like Ethan and think its a nice alternative to Nathan.

So please, suggest away!

I'm with you on Damien. (No offense to any Damien's out there.)

Ethan is nice, I know someone who named her son Ethan.

Are you looking for modern, classic, unique, new-age, etc? I always like names that have meaning behind them.

I know a couple who just had a little girl; they named her by combining the first two or three letters of each of their first names. It doesn't sound odd, either, which is a plus (for her).

Panther- it has an understated strength, elegance and agility.

My name is Ethan, I don't recommend it

I want to name my first son Odysseus, but people think I'm crazy lol. One of the more normal names that I really like is Casseus.

Honestly, something unique that's classic or new age but has meaning to it. I really believe a name is a reflection of character. The name we settled on if it was a girl was Niala which is an Arabic name and means "attainer". Other close ones were Natasha which means birthday in Russian, the variation Tasha and Tanya which is also Ruassian but I'm kind of biased being Polish lol...

The combination sounds cool but would not work with our names... It sounds terrible lol

Considering the panther is my most favorite animal in the world, I don't think my son will come out black enough to even consider having the name, plus I don't want him to be teased for not fitting into an ethnic grp since hell most likely be in between... And why don't you recommend Ethan? Is it something serious or just want the name to yourself :P

Haha yea I know what Damien means, but my SO is keen on it so that's why I'm looking for alternatives.

I like Xavier but the meaning doesn't mean much to me. Thank you though

I like the meaning "prevailing" but I know too many people with those names, looking for something on the less popular side!

That name is on the same list as Damien for me. It means angry man and I certainly don't want him wasting energy on being angry all the time lol

I didn't know that. It kind of turns me off to the name as well. I just looked up Cassius, which means empty or vain. I hope my choice of favorite names doesn't say anything about me lol.
