Default The MMA/UFC Thread.

in the spirit of the NFL/NHL/soccer threads i'd like to start an MMA thread - who else watches?

these days i'm more into watching fights than any other sport, the UFC obviously markets them the best and thats pretty muc what i've been watching but feel free to discuss Belator, WEC, Pride, K1, etc.

lately i've been enjoying the TUF season so far; Ronda sucks as a person and is a boring fighter to watch, i'd love to see some girl stop her with savage striking... i just don't know who that women's fighter is yet.

i thought the Jones/Gus decision was a bad one - althought the fight could have gone either way i don't see how it was a unanimous decision.. Jones was pulped.

for me the most interesting and entertaining division is the 155lbers. Benson Henderson sucks and was a boring fighter so i loved seeing Pettis whoop him. my favorite fighter right now is Rustam Khabilov... watch some tape on him if you don't know who he is.. he suplexes dudes onto their heads for KOs on the regular. they call him little Zangeif lol. i think he's actually a better fighter than the other Dagestani, Khabib Nurmagomedov (21-0!!) and the two of them will reign 155 within the year....

so - who else watches?

I watch UFC events occasionally, but I watch every episode of TUF. I think I liked last season possibly the best of any I've ever watched. This year has been less exciting for me. Wish that one guy wouldn't have been injured and sent home.
I agree with you about Ronda, I'd love to see someone beat her down to.

Yeah it's been my favourite sport for a good few years now. I love the realness. And once you start to understand the technical nuances it can be fascinating. Compared to other sports stars they don't get paid shit though.
Been following Pettis since before Strike Force and I'm hoping Big Rig sticks one right on GSP's chin.

I am a huge MMA fan and watch almost everything I can get my hands on. I am actually watching the latest MFC event as I am typing this. I am looking forward to Shina Aoki's next fight, but I wish he would stop fighting cans and get a real fight.

Shred, I totaly agree about Rhonda and really hope Miesha crushes her this next time around. I love love to see like a knee right of the middle and crush her face....maybe to discpictive. I also agree on the Petis win, I hated Benson, his christ bullshit annoys me. Also the Russian suplex machine is the shit!

hendricks is a beast and of course he could win but GSP is a worthy champ..

roy nelson is the shit - i love his additude. HW is kinda thin overall it seems right now..

Ronda is a one trick pony, and a terrible additude.. dishonorable, insecure, trying way too hard to convince everyone she's tough... bitch, you're a fighter and you're surrounded by nothing but other fighers - everyone's tough; get over yourself. everyone gets beat eventually....

I haven't had cable for a while, so I haven't seen much lately

But I did put in a solid 5 or so hours @ my neighbors on the weekend..
GSP vs Diaz card & Jones vs Belfort card.

Fuck, Vitor looked horrible, might have had something to do with the killing machine standing before him
He just looked really slow, not the Vitor of old.

The GSP vs Diaz fight was ok, not as entertaining as most Diaz fights.
He couldn't do shit, worst he's done in a fight in a while(@ least the ones I've seen)
GSP's jab is unstoppable @ the moment.
Big Rig has that lunging monster left, but it only comes after a weak little jab.
I don't know if Big Rig is gonna be able to get that setup right in there?

It's gonna take to long to throw that bomb out of the pocket without a setup shot.
You can crack a guy in the face with a jab all day if he keeps lunging in with a haymaker.

If whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.

Then I am so close to immortality

^^agree with entire post. Just watch the streaming fights online. I have a pretty sweet HD link.

Watch most events...use to watch every single Pride/WEC/UFC event.

I boxed for a few years and did some MMA training. I'm older now but being able to fight is valuable and has gotten me out of a lot of sticky situations.

I love Jose Aldo, Pettis, JDS, GSP, and Huerta even though I don't think Roger fights anymore.

I thought Jones was gonna be alot more untouchable than he has been in the last couple fights.
