i have a kid...i have two kids even.

i'll ellaborate a lil further on that, i guess...

i don't think it's wrong to replace yourself in this life. it's kinda what the life cycle is about...it's in our nature. but unless you live & work on a farm, there's really no need to be having 10 kids. you know there's actually clubs & meets for families that have 10+ kids?! it's sick.

but yeah, procreation is a fine thing when kept in control. everything in moderation.

that being said, i definitely think it's about waste. population does come into play, but america's population is being so heavily increased not by the number of births each year, but by the number of immigrants.

waste, on the other hand, has been an issue for quite some time now. everything comes in a package, that then gets thrown away. the number of people who still don't recycle is just disgusting.

I disagree with the immigration statment. Where do immigrants come from. Over population is a global problem. Waste is a byproduct of too many people. It's not "save the planet" it's "save our species". While there is a need to pro-create, we as the human species have gone slightly overboard...

i would agree that the human species has gotten out of hand with procreation, but this wasn't a world-wide depiction, it was an american depiction. so when you brought up population i was strictly thinking american population, which has definitely increased more due to immigration than native-born births.

the nice thing about humans, is that we are not very sturdy or resilient creatures.

we are too dependent on technology for survival and consequently, to access aforementioned technologies, you need money!

and so as people are crammed into ever tighter ghettos, with fewer resources, including finance, their ability to fend for themselves against stronger others, pestilence, disease, poachers deminishes. we die and succumb... we suffer wars and AIDS and the like. famine, rat infestation, malaria, we die.

the planet has finite resources and so its capacity to sustain is also finite; thus current seemingly growth in fecundity will suddenly and with much death and gnashing of teeth either ocme to an abrupt end or will painfully crash. it is simple rules of nature.

having said that tho, and considering the mental that overpopulation is an global issue;

Well since we come from immigrant roots it's kind of a mute point. Yeah, recent immigrants have increased the population, and certain groups are definitely having large families after moving here. I don't see it as so many immigrants coming in, as they come then have huge naturalized families.

Don't get me wrong, recycle, reduce your footprint so to speak. It doesn't matter if we keep breeding like rabbits...
