Hard wearing gloves especially palms?

I'm looking for some gloves that will keep my hands warm and dry, but most of all, ones that the palm will not get chopped up by the edge of my board in the first few weeks. Is it normal for edges to munch up gloves? (my oakley revert storm gloves got cut up in literally a day).

I'm considering some Dakine Raptors (in blue) with the touchtec. I think they are a 12/13 model.

Would I be better off waiting for the new 13/14 models?

Have also looked at the Level gloves, with wrist guards, which seem pretty robust.

Any suggestions on tough gloves welcome.

You should check out oakleyvault, they have a bunch of leather goretex gloves for 75% off and should run around 30 bucks.

I'd suggest leather, I have a pair of Swany's myself and they are not showing any signs of wear after 100+ days. Just got a pair of Pow gloves, forget what model but they have leather palms and finger tips. Hoping they are gonna be as good as they look and live up to the reviews.
