Snowboarding Jacket.
 
Hi ,

I'm in the market for a snowboarding jacket. One I can keep for a long time.

After watching the GORE TEX videos on youtube, I was sold.

I need this by Tuesday, or by next week.



Any suggestions?

Hopefully < $300 .

Gore-Tex is a brand that licenses it's product to different manufacturers.

You should be able to find a Special Blend gore tex jacket for even less than that. I have had one for a while and expect it to last a very long time. Got one leftover from a prior year about 70 or 80 percent off at buysnow. Saw some really good deals on them at thehouse recently.

If you can spend more, you might check out Patagonia. I almost bought one of their jackets on clearance at a local shop here last fall, but they aren't really cut for snowboarding and they did not have the size I wanted in stock. The problem is they are far from cheap, if you can't find one on clearance (the one I was looking at lists for 5 or 6 hundred bucks).

Most goretex jackets are going to be a basic shell. Arcteryx makes high quality gear but anything hour will be pretty good quality. There are snowboard jackets that are gore and have insulation. Burton and quik volcom have a few different options.

I ride a neff soft-shell most of the time but I do have an Arcteryx sidewinder if I really need it. I live on the east coat so you don’t need a gore shell if you can’t afford or find what you want right now.

first time boarding yesterday, and borrowed gear from bros. snowboarding pants were a life saver, but the bottom of my jackets were frozen, and ended up wetting my boxers and longjohns.


Also, can you guys recommend me some pants/ jackets?

so goretex is usually a shell and it's up to me to layer under?
