First time buyer

I know I'm a newbie, but I need some advice. I'm looking into buying a jacket for next winter, trying to catch the clearance sales. Anyway it will be my first time snowboarding, and I'm struggling settling on a jacket.

I'm trying to find a jacket that will attach to the belt loops of whatever snow pants I'm wearing, assuming they have belt loops, in order to keep the jacket from riding up.

Do you guys have this problem? Or is it a problem "created and solved" by the gear companies that I shouldn't worry about. Or is it something easily sewn into any jacket? Google isn't being very helpful.

As long as your coat has a powder skirt, it's easy to fudge something to hook it to your pants. A bit of narrow velcro strips and some creativity go a long way.

Volcom has jackets and pants with "Zip Tech" where the powder skirt zips to the pants.

^ This, or many companies have an interface system. Like has been said, Volcom stuff has a zipper (not ALL models, so be sure to read the specs). I have Bonfire stuff and it has snaps... I think Burton has something too, probably snaps/buttons...

Basically, get jacket and pants from the same company that (ideally) specify that they interface, and they will.

i wouldnt worry about it. i don't currently use volcom so i don't zip anything together and i don't use any other thing to hold the pow skirt down. its pretty much a non issue, especially with the longer fitting jackets these days. id say this should be your last concern.

onesie, onesie, onesie…that new Adidas Firebird looks sick. Go ride the mountain looking like Run DMC.
